Madelaine Schmidt
Madelaine loves coaching because the sport of baton twirling provided her with many fabulous opportunities that she now gets to share with her students. Those experiences included traveling to national and regional competitions across the country and winning the gold medal in AAA PreTrials Pairs with Coach Haley, her Pairs partner in 2019. She was the Central Region Collegiate Champion, the Arizona State Solo Champion in 2019 and the Colorado State Solo and 2-Baton Grand Champion in 2018.
Madelaine was a feature twirler at Northern Arizona University from 2017 to 2021 and served as the Twirling Team captain from 2019 to 2021. She was also a member of Tau Beta Sigma, the band service sorority, and served as the group’s president from 2019 to 2021. She was honored with NAU’s Golden Axe award as one of the outstanding members of the Class of 2021. Madelaine graduated with a degree in Special and Elementary Education and is now a special education teacher at Eaglecrest High School, where she coaches Unified Bowling, girls’ soccer and is co-coordinator of the Peer Buddies program.
